A New+Better Year

Starting a new year can be exhilarating if you’re in good spirits, but it can be daunting if you’re going through a rough patch. We all go through tough times, it can be due to many factors as you know. I started down that rabbit hole at the beginning of December, I was wondering what the future would bring. Who am I, a fortune teller? I got a little too into my head so to speak. Luckily this didn’t last long, by the time the holidays were here I felt hopeful again. I get excited when a new year begins, I typically think of my goals and what I personally want to achieve as the months unfold. What about you, would you like a do-over? We need to reinvent ourselves from time to time. And if not ourselves, we need to reinvent how we live. It’s a new year after all, perhaps this is your year! So what’s your story, what do you want this year to say about you? Once you consider your physical environment things begin to look up. I’m amazed by the positive changes my clients see in their daily lives once they begin to embrace change. Even little things make a huge difference…

Where Should We Start?

Some people think it’s best to start in a room you use often. This is a personal journey after all, where we begin is up to you of course. It doesn’t matter where you begin, beginning somewhere, is what matters. I personally think it’s important to make the best use of your space, this applies whether you have a big place to hang your hat or a small one. Stating the obvious, a well designed space lifts your spirits and makes daily life tremendously better.

Design Tailored To Your Life

Many people need a multi-purpose room, this space is a great example. People who love books know what I mean. Even if you don’t have the space for a library you can incorporate one into a family room or dining room. The next image incorporates a great place to visit with the host while they cook or a zen spot to enjoy morning coffee in solitude while daydreaming.

What about a modern, clean lined multi-purpose space incorporating an office area, bookcases and relaxing lounge? I thought you’d never ask. Your requests are surprising sometimes, and I love them!

What’s Cooking?

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home, I firmly agree. You don’t cook? That’s ok, I don’t enjoy cooking, but I certainly love to eat. Whether you’re Ina Garten or a cook by necessity we all need a kitchen that functions for how you live. Despite my aversion to cooking I still want to have every pot and pan in the right place, easily accessible. What about you? This green is gorgeous! But if you prefer something more contemporary or simple that’s fine by us. Just so you know most of the kitchens we do are white or in neutral hues.

This white kitchen is quite large and perfect for family living, there’s lots of room to move about. The space below is more compact, it’s smaller, yet well designed and organized for apartment living.

I know I’ve said this many times before, but I can’t believe how people neglect themselves and their personal space. Everyone needs a great bed and space to sleep, yes this applies to you too! We get dressed for ourselves, we eat carefully and work out to feel/look better. The same can be said of the place we sleep, our bedroom is a haven. Are you sleeping well? If not, a refresh can help, that’s a promise!

What’s your jam? We love doing work in many different styles: modern, traditional, romantic, period design, industrial, spare, eclectic just to name a few. The end result is tailored to your taste.
